Rejuvenate Your Eyes With a Blepharoplasty Procedure

rejuvenate-your-eyes-with-a-blepharoplasty-procedure-sacramento-roseville-ca-dr-rudy-cosciaFor some people, undereye bags aren’t just a temporary inconvenience – they can often feel like a permanent part of their facial makeup.  Drooping eyelids and brows, undereye bags, and dark circles can all make a person look constantly tired and fatigued – not to mention older before his or her time.  These cosmetic issues can be so severe that they make it difficult for someone to enjoy normal vision, especially with significantly droopy eyebrows and/or eyelids.

Sagging eyelids and dark circles can make it difficult for someone to feel confident about his or her appearance.  That’s why board certified plastic surgeon Dr. Rudy Coscia is pleased to offer blepharoplasty procedures from his brand-new practice in Granite Bay, CA.

What is a Blepharoplasty Procedure?

A blepharoplasty is a surgical procedure that allows your plastic surgeon to remove pockets of fat and excess skin from around the eyes. Blepharoplasty uses a scalpel to make the incision along the fold of the upper eyelid and right underneath the lower lid, allowing the plastic surgeon to access this fat and excess skin.

After fat is removed, your plastic surgeon arranges and tightens the skin, which allows for the trimming of excess skin.  The new skin is stitched into place, thus eliminating any sagging and drooping eyelids.

The blepharoplasty procedure can be performed on the upper eyelid, the lower eyelid, or both.  Recovery times vary, although most patients need intensive rest for the first week, with swelling dissipating in the following weeks.

Rejuvenation Through Blepharoplasty

Blepharoplasty is a great choice for patients who have excessive undereye bags, dark circles, and fat deposits around their eyes.

[…] Do you need both It is best to consult with a plastic surgeon to determine if you will have to do both an upper and lower blepharoplasty, as this will depend on your specific eye issues.  However, if your upper eyelids look weary because of extra, droopy skin, and you also have voluminous bags below your eyes, you may be a good candidate for both upper and lower blepharoplasty (read more).
